Mondays can be tough, but yesterday was definitely a good day. We finally got our hands on the new DJI Mavic Air! A marvel of engineering and design, the Mavic Air was built to go wherever adventure takes you. Inheriting the best of the Mavic series, this ultraportable and foldable drone features high-end flight performance and functionality for limitless exploration. We've got ourselves the Combo version and up there you can find a fresh unboxing video we just did our studio.

Our First Thoughts on the New Mavic Air

If you been following us for a while now, you must have noticed that we are pretty confident with aerial toys. Ok, ok, we are actually obsessed with them. But who loves photography and isn't a drone lover these days? Getting the new Mavic Air then was mandatory!

When we opened the pack, we didn’t expected the Mavic Air to be this small and compact. Our first impression was actually really positive. The product looks great, it is light and the folding feature... well, it was about time. Apart the reduced size, the lines of the Mavic Air follows that of the Mavic family design with a few stolen details from the DJI Spark. The finishings, color and materials don't let old fans down.

The compact bag is included in the pack and it contains all the equipments needed. Everything is designed to be portable for an easy storage. These details make MAVIC Air more pleasant to travel with. Travelers and photographers will love it because it’s a good balance between high tech premium contents, portable body at an affordable price.

DJI Mavic Air: Main New Features

— Asteroid and Boomerang flight modes (these are the ones we are the most enthusiastic about!)

— APAS (Advanced Pilot Assistance Systems)

— Flight features similar to larger DJI drones

— Smart Capture Technology included

— Hand control

— Flight time around 21min (still not much but yeah, at least we have 6 more minutes!)

If you still haven’t seen the keynote, take a look at the official DJI video to learn more about each new feature:

Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing our creations with Mavic Air pretty soon here on the blog and in our Youtube channel. What about you? Did you get the chance to test it out? Share your geeky comments with us on our Twitter.
